# Purge CDN objects

> Expire cached responses for specific CDN object paths without deleting the files.

Requires `cdn:purge` on a Developer API Key. The Server API Key does not include this permission.

<ParamField header="Idempotency-Key" type="string">
  Optional key for safe retries of the same request.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="paths" type="string[]" required>
  Object paths relative to your CDN workspace, inside the key's allowed prefixes.
</ParamField>

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST "https://api.fivemesh.io/v1/objects/purge" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FIVEMESH_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"paths":["inventory/items/bread.png"]}'
```

```json theme={null}
{
  "success": true,
  "paths": ["inventory/items/bread.png"],
  "purged": 1,
  "requestId": "req_..."
}
```

Purging keeps stored files. Subsequent requests fetch the current content. To expire the whole workspace prefix, use **CDN** > **Settings** in the dashboard.
