Changes require Portal administration access. In an organization, the owner must share the service and grant access to the selected registered server. Changing media expiration also requires CDN administration access.

Upload limits and formats

Open Medias, change the settings and click Save media settings. The daily allowance belongs to each signed-in player in this Portal. It is not a shared allowance for the whole community, and using another Portal has its own allowance. It resets at midnight UTC. Failed or stopped transfers also use an attempt. Files become ready only after upload verification completes. An incomplete or failed record does not provide a usable file link. Turning uploads off preserves existing upload records and CDN files. A CDN that becomes unavailable also blocks new uploads; Portal does not silently move files to another CDN.

Restrict uploads with Discord roles

Under Upload permissions, choose one of these modes: For a role-based mode, select at least one role from the connected Discord server and save. These settings check the player’s existing roles; they do not assign roles to players. If a selected role is no longer available, remove it or choose a replacement before saving. Use Refresh roles if the Discord role list has changed. When the connection or role list cannot be verified, resolve the visible error before making changes.

Block or unblock an uploader

In Medias > Blocked uploaders, enter the player’s Discord user ID and click Block. Use Unblock on an existing entry to allow that player to upload again, subject to your membership, role and daily-limit settings. A restriction applies to this Portal’s uploads. Blocking an uploader does not remove their Discord membership or delete files they already uploaded.

Set media expiration

Under Medias > Media expiration:
  1. Turn on Automatically delete old media.
  2. Set Keep for and select Days or Hours.
  3. Choose 1–365 days or 1–8,760 hours. Enabling the setting starts with 30 days; review the value before saving.
  4. Click Save media settings.
The rule also appears in CDN > Settings as a TTL policy for portal/media/. You can review or change the same rule from either page.
Expiration applies to all media under portal/media/ in this CDN, including existing files and uploads from other Portals using the same CDN. Files already older than the period become eligible for deletion. Deletion cannot be undone from Portal.
Expiration follows the file’s age; changing the period does not give older files a new retention period. Deletion happens asynchronously, so expiration is not an exact removal time. Other CDN retention policies can expire matching media sooner. Turn the setting off and save to remove the Portal media rule. This does not restore deleted files or remove other CDN retention rules. See CDN settings. An upload record can remain in a player’s history after the file expires or is deleted through CDN. The record does not guarantee that the public URL still works.

Inspect uploaded files and Discord metadata

Open CDN > Objects and browse portal/media/. New Portal media files sit directly inside this folder. Older files may remain in subfolders; their existing URLs are unchanged. Open a file’s preview and review Custom metadata: Portal adds these values from the signed-in Discord account. Players cannot choose another uploader identity through the upload form. If the account has no stored username, only discordid is present. Metadata is added to new uploads. Files uploaded before this feature keep their previous metadata. It identifies the account at completion and does not automatically change when someone later changes their Discord username. Players see their own upload history in Portal. Customer staff with CDN access can inspect the stored files in the CDN object browser. Public file responses do not include these Discord metadata fields.

Maintain the Discord connection

Open Discord to review the connection and run the available checks. Reconnect if FiveMesh was removed from the Discord server or the dashboard reports a connection problem. Disconnecting the Portal clears its Discord connection. FiveMesh stays installed in the Discord server because other Portals may use it. Reconnect and verify the intended community before relying on membership or role checks again.

Disable or delete Portal

In Settings > Destructive actions, use Disable Portal to stop access to the public Portal while preserving its configuration. Re-enable it when ready. Already published CDN files are not deleted by disabling Portal. Use Delete Portal to remove the Portal configuration, release its address and remove its associated upload history and restrictions. The registered FiveMesh server and installed Discord bot remain.
Deleting Portal does not delete the files already stored in your CDN. Review them in CDN > Objects and delete any files you no longer want to publish. Deleting Portal’s settings and history cannot be undone.
